Two weeks ago I packed the boys up for a road trip to Carmel. We stayed in a two story house with an unforgettable view my mom found on VRBO. We spent all day long watching whales migrate, fiery sunsets and walking amongst larger than life cypress trees.

I’m still exclusively breast feeding the boys which means I’m nursing 10+ hours a day. Thankfully the master bedroom had a large deck which made those 10 hours a day more enjoyable. I was even able to squeeze in design work for my new client and a coastal run without the boys. I almost forgot how to run without a stroller!

It was 80*, beaches were packed but the downtown was still pretty sleepy at night. Many restaurants are closed on Sunday and Monday, call ahead if you are looking for something in particular. We ate at a small Mediterranean spot the first night on the patio. The filet and roasted garlic appetizer was delicious. We attempted to eat at Clint Eastwood’s hotel restaurant on our last night but Desi had other plans. We did even make it out of the parking lot. After 20 minutes of walking him around while singing, swaying & shushing I gave up and nursed him while standing up waiting for our take out. Shrimp scampi, yum!
One last thing, the houses in Carmel are just adorable! Here are a few of my favorites.
